Peru Amazon Tour Package 12 days

Day 1: Arrival To Lima

Upon arrival in Lima: Reception at the airport, assistance and transfer to selected hotel.

In the afternoon, guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the "City of Kings". The tour includes Lima's Historical Centre, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum, the Church of Santo Domingo, with the tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin de Porras, and Lima's Colonial Balconies.

We will visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the greatest monumental complex of Colonial Art in America and Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Then we visit Larco Herrera Museum, for an excellent overview of Peru's ancient past as it holds the best private collection of pre-Columbian art in the country. The museum has many fine examples of textile works, one example of which has a record breaking 398 threads per inch; materials and tools used by ancient Peruvians to produce their work in ceramics and metal; and Pre-Inca and Inca period pottery, gold and silver pieces with semiprecious stones.
And finally we will go to the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, a Ceremonial and Administrative Centre of the Lima Culture built in the II Century A.C. that the Incas considered as "Ñaupallaqta" or Sacred Town.

Return to your selected hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Cusco - City Tour - Qoricancha - Cathedral + 4 Ruins

Transfer from your hotel in Lima to the airport, flight from Lima to Cusco. Cusco City has great tourist attractions, every street, every wall, every path has history and culture.

These tourist attractions of Cusco are united in the city tour, in this tour we can visit places like Cathedral of Cusco, tTemple of the Sun or Qoricancha and around the city the Inca archaeological remains of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.

All these attractions are within and close to Cusco city, for this reason we recommend starting the visit with the city tour in Cusco.

End of the tour and return to the hotel.

Day 3: Sacred Valley - Pisac Ruins - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu (overnight)

Buffet breakfast at hotel.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas has very important cultural attractions surrounded by impressive landscapes. The Sacred Valley is the gateway to Machu Picchu.

We will visit the Inca city of Pisac, located in Peruvian Andes mountains, we will visit the sacred places of this beautiful enclosure.

After this visit we will arrive in Urubamba, where we will have lunch. The next place we will visit will be Ollantaytambo, a beautiful Inca city, which had administrative, religious and social functions.

In the afternoon we will leave you near the Ollantaytambo train station, from there we will board the train to Aguas Calientes.

Day 4: Machu Picchu - Cusco

We will visit the Inca city of Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes, where we will visit the most important places, we will also have time to take photos and feel the energy of this great city.

In the afternoon get the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy station then We wil take a car from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

Day 5: Maras Moray Tour.

This tour will show us, one of the most important archaeological centers in Maras, Moray was a center of adaptation and improvement of seeds and plants at the height.

After that we will visit the salt mines in Maras, here we will find more than 3000 salt pools, these mines were exploited from the pre-Inca, Inca, colonial times to the present day.

Overnight in Cusco.

Day 6: Rainbow Mountain Trek

We will leave early in the morning and we will board the tourist bus, we will arrive at Cusipata where we will have our breakfast.

Then we will continue to Phuluwasipata, from here we start our walk to the Mountain, we will walk over 4,000 meters above sea level, until we reach 5,135, which is the highest point.

After the visit, we will return to the bus and arrive at Cusipata for your lunch, in the afternoon we will be returning to the city of Cusco.

Day 7: Cusco South Valley Tour

Breakfast at hotel.

South of Cusco is a very extensive valley, where the Inca and pre-Inca cultures built buildings that we can still find today.

Tipon is a large Inca archaeological center where we can see Andean terraces, aqueducts that after 500 years are still working, this place has a special microclimate and a beautiful landscape of the southern valley.

Pikillacta was a pre-Inca city that belonged to the Wari Chanca culture that had the city of Ayacucho as its central capital, the type of construction is different from Inca architecture.

The Church of Andahuaylillas is one of the most important religious treasures in southern Peru, considered the Sistine Chapel of America, visited by many tourists.

After the visit we will return to Cusco City.

Day 8: Cusco - Puerto Maldonado (Tambopata)

Breakfast at your hotel.

Meet your transfer to the airport for an early flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival you will be transferred by boat to your jungle lodge.

It is located in the territory of the Ese'eja native community and is built with the same materials and architectural techniques as those used by the native communities throughout the Amazon As you leave the traces of Puerto Maldonado behind, sailing in a dugout canoe on the Tambopata River, the tranquility of the rainforest will absorb you.

That evening you will enjoy a delicious dinner before tucking in early to get ready for your jungle tour at the break of dawn.

Day 9: Puerto Maldonado (Tambopata)

At dawn you will venture out on a short hike to the parrot clay lick a few minutes down-river from the lodge to witness the jungle come to life.

Later, after breakfast, you will have time to try to spot giant river otters, turtles, hoatzin, and wading birds as you explore the surrounding jungle.

In the afternoon you will be taken on a guided walk through the forest where your Amazon expert guide will have the opportunity to point out hiding animals and indigenous plants.

After dinner, enthusiasts can go on a night walk to enjoy the nocturnal creatures that come to life or you can simply relax to the sounds of the jungle.

Day 10: Puerto Maldonado (Tambopata)

At dawn you can go for another optional visit to the clay lick. After breakfast, you will go for a hike accompanied by an Ese'eja native who will explain how the forest is used in their everyday life: for food, medicine, construction materials, etc.

You will enjoy a delicious local meal for lunch before heading off in the afternoon for another hike that will take you down a trail that crosses a floodplain and a bamboo forest.

This trail will offer yet a different variety of flora and fauna for you to enjoy.

You will return before dark to the jungle lodge for your last evening in the Peruvian rainforest.

Day 11: Puerto Maldonado - Cusco

Breakfast at the lodge

We return to our office in Puerto Maldonado before leaving for the airport, where your guide will help you with the requirements for your flight to Cusco.

Upon arrival reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel, free day to get acclimatized.

Day 12: Cusco - Lima

After an early breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred at the airport for your journey home or on to your next destination
